A leading trade magazine named a Grand Junction anesthesiologist to its list of “100 Physician Leaders to Know in the Ambulatory Surgery Center Industry”.
Becker’s ASC Review named Dr. Dennis Johnson, medical director at Grand Valley Surgical Center, 710 Wellington Ave., to the list as a physician leader who helped establish a successful company that supports industry growth.
Becker’s is a Chicago-based online and print publication that focuses on providing business and legal news for ambulatory surgery center owners, operators, administrators and decision-makers, Becker’s said in a news release.
Johnson was selected based on recommendations from his peers and internal research by the magazine’s editors.
“Members of the list do not pay and cannot pay to appear on the list,” Becker’s said. The magazine called Johnson a pioneer in the ambulatory surgery center industry who spent “tireless hours promoting the growth and reputation of (the industry) on a local and national level.”
“The physicians are highlighted not only for their clinical expertise but also vision and leadership in providing a high quality, low cost option for health care,” Becker’s said.
Johnson is the medical director of the center as well as its chief of anesthesia. He is board-certified and earned his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City.
Grand Valley Surgical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Its surgeons provide care in a number of specialties, including ENT, ophthalmology, general surgery, urology, orthopedics, gynecology and neurology.
